Questions
Does ElevenLabs have a free plan?
Yes. Free includes 10,000 credits a month, roughly ten minutes of text to speech, and three custom voice slots for Voice Design. Output from the free plan may be used non-commercially with attribution. Voice cloning requires Starter or higher.
Can I use ElevenLabs audio commercially?
Not on the Free plan, where ElevenLabs' billing documentation says content may be used non-commercially with attribution. The pricing page lists a commercial licence for Starter, Creator, Pro, Scale and Business. Enterprise terms are custom.
What is the difference between Instant and Professional voice cloning?
Instant cloning works from a short sample, with 1 to 2 minutes of clean audio recommended, and does not train a dedicated model. Professional cloning trains a dedicated model on 30 to 180 minutes of audio and typically takes 3 to 6 hours. Professional clones need Creator or above, must pass a verification step, and can only be made of your own voice.
How do ElevenLabs credits work?
Credits are consumed according to plan, product and model, whether you generate on the website or through the API. The pricing page equates 10,000 credits to about 10 minutes of speech. Paid plans roll over unused credits for up to two months, but cancelling or downgrading forfeits unused credits.
Is annual billing cheaper?
Yes, annual billing is described as two months free. Starter is $5 a month, Creator $18.33, Pro $82.50, Scale $249.17 and Business $825 on annual billing. Creator is listed at $11 for the first month, half of its normal $22.
Does ElevenLabs have an API?
Yes. The ElevenAPI is a REST interface to every capability, with official Python and TypeScript SDKs. The pricing page mentions API output only for the Pro plan, so check ElevenLabs' billing documentation for per-plan API rules before you build on a lower tier.
